THE LOG CABIN

The 1940s Log Cabin has been lovingly restored and renovated and is now ready for visitors!
It was built for the gold miners who were sure they would find gold here in these hills, and as such built the log cabin and dug numerous shafts in the bush and also we have found an entrance by the creek trail.
After spending years imagining what would be perfect, how to best preserve and protect the timber and restore it all to a beautiful place to be.
We started by removing 80 years of microbat bat poo and cobwebs, then the asbestos lino, stripped the logs all by hand to reveal stunning timber, then sanding and protecting it all over again, giving it new flooring, replacing the old balcony and including an outdoor kitchen, extending and redesigning the old outhouse into an elegant bathroom oasis.
All of the timber used was milled on site just like the miners from trees that fell in the massive storm that hit our area in 2021, the benchtops were lovingly hand sanded by Bek and of course we added in some mod cons like electricity. To finish everything off we upgraded the fireplace and found the most beautiful furnishings.
All of the water is collected from the rain that falls and we then recycle the grey water to irrigate our fruit orchard, we have a composting toilet and solar system so it is an off the grid experience with the modern luxuries, while being eco-friendly and environmentally sustainable.
It's now the perfect retreat for couples or singles to unwind, unplug and relax surrounded by nature and animals 💕

We just had the most amazing time at lovely little Nuture Creek. Not only is the farm itself and log cabin just beautiful, but the location and proximity to so many beautiful little towns such as Belgrave, Healesville and Avonsleigh is just brilliant.Bek and her family are the most wonderful hosts. So easy to get along with and passionate about their little farm. Some of our greatest times at the farm were simply chatting with Bek! Spending time with the farm animals was an absolute highlight; all so well natured and very lovable.This trip turned out extra special for us, as we actually go engaged when we got to the end of our Scavenger picnic (a must do BTW)! Bek was instrumental in pulling of the surprise and it was just the most perfect spot with beautiful views and a delicious picnic basket full of gorgeous local produce for us to enjoy as we got to enjoy the moment.Nurture Creek will hold a special place in our hearts, and we are very excited to go back for more celebrations to come!
